Yankee Doodle Pigeon was a piece designed as half of a bigger image. Eddie Nunez, of DC Comics drew an image featuring Dick Dastardly flying his plane and Muttley on the front gun. I drew Yankee Doodle Pigeon firing back to honor Eddie’s work as a fantastic artist. I enjoyed working on this image. I penciled it by hand, then inked it, and scanned it for finalization. It was colored digitally in Photoshop. Blur effects were added to the bullets. The character is a stylized version of the original famed 80s Saturday-Morning Cartoon character. Total time spent on this illustration was approximately 6 hours. It was a lot of fun!

Illustration

I have been drawing ever since I was able to pickup a jumbo crayon. I enjoy drawing comic book characters and cartoons the most, but I also draw realistic images as well. Through the years, I've created illustrations for several businesses and children's book concepts. I also completed a layout on a one-shot issue story for a comic book company in the late 90s. I went on to develop a cartooning instruction curriculum in the early 2000s which landed me the Art Educator of the Year award in 2003 for Cherokee County Schools in Canton, Georgia. It was called 'Cartooning with Captain Ron.' Since then, I’ve drawn many commissions for many people. Contact me to see how I can assist you with your illustration!

I helped them develop their brand image to coincide with that of Dacor itself. They are now the number one factory-authorized service and repair company for Dacor products in the entire state of Georgia. I was hired again to rebrand their image in 2021. Featured here is their new simplistic image brand design...

Graphic Design

I have been designing logos and layouts for over 35 years. My designs incorporate art with precision. Often times, instead of choosing a font to use from my extensive fonts library, I'll create a new design on paper, scan it, and work with a vector image in Adobe Illustrator to fine tune an original concept. A lot of times, I'm commissioned work because my client would like something original, catchy, and artistic. I've designed mascots for companies with this in mind. At times, my cartoons and caricatures make the designs fun and noteworthy, but best of all, memorable to their customers. I specialize in making the small business owners’ dreams come to life! Kraken Down on Security was a marketing campaign for Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, a premier holistic information security provider located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The design features their company mascot, the golden knight "Lance", riding on top of a kraken. The beast is shown crushing what was symbolically referred to as a “hacker”. Other marketing key points are infused into the design...
